Epistle to the Church of Castle Rock

From: Broken Tree Community Church

To our brothers and sisters, the Bride of Christ, living in and around Castle Rock, Franktown, and Larkspur. Grace and peace to you in Jesus’ Name from your sister church, Broken Tree Community in Castle Rock.

We love you so much! As the Apostle Paul wrote many times in his letters, “We always thank God when we remember you in our prayers.” Our desire is for you in 2016 is to deepen your relationship with Christ and to live out His purposes more than ever.

As you grow closer to Jesus, we pray that you sense His love in your lives, and then just not talk about it, but practice it by entering into the brokenness of our fellow brothers and sisters. We understand that some of you want to fix those of us who are broken to take our pain away, and understandably so; however, true agape love is sitting with our fellow brothers and sisters in their struggle and helping them find beauty in the battle. This is a reflection of God’s love. As John writes, “This is the only way we’ll know we’re living truly, living in God’s reality. It’s also the way to shut down debilitating self-criticism.” (I Jn. 3:18-19a) So let us not be discouraged because of this self-criticism within our hearts, but let us be encouraged because we are children of the living God who trust in His all-sufficient grace.

We are confident that you are already doing this because we are seeing many opportunities to reach the lost with the hope of the Gospel. From inviting friends and neighbors to outreach events, to partnering with the Douglas County School District in addressing parenting challenges and preventing suicide, God is at work in many ways and making His Kingdom come in our midst. So keep the faith and let us press on towards the spreading of the good news of Jesus Christ throughout the Plum Creek Valley. Please pray for us as we look for more ways to meet the needs of our community and, ultimately, to help people become true disciples of Jesus Christ.

May you continue to grow in the faith, hope, and love that is found in Jesus.

In Christ, Steve Roloff, Broken Tree Community Church
