Epistle to the Church of Castle Rock

From: Emmaus Anglican Church

Grace and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ, to you, our friends and co-laborers in Christ in Douglas County, Colorado.

Pondering that remarkable story in Luke 24, when the resurrected Savior met two disciples on the road to Emmaus, it always encourages me to think about how he’s there even when we don’t recognize him, how he can be found in the Scriptures, known in the breaking of the bread, and that our hearts can burn with faith, hope, and love as we walk together, with him in the center. The Scriptures tell a unified story, from Genesis one to our Savior’s birth, from his Ascension and giving of the Spirit, to the very last page of Revelation: The Lord of All Creation wants to be with us.

This is not only the faith that we share, but the faith that we are called to share with a sin-sick world that desperately needs to know that only the Lord of Creation, and nothing in creation can ever fill the God-shaped hole in our souls.

Be strong, and let your heart take courage, all you who wait for the Lord. May the Lord show steadfast love and faithfulness to you; And the blessing of God almighty, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit be upon you, and remain with you forever. Amen.
